LWL works with the Teaching Service Commission to build a comprehensive, evidence-based system for recruiting, deploying and retaining quality teachers, with particular attention to female teachers and rural, hard-to-reach postings. A strengthened Teacher Management Information System gives government a reliable, single source of truth on its teaching workforce for the first time.
Alongside recruitment, LWL supports work to make teaching a genuinely attractive, respected profession, including evidence-based career pathways, fair and transparent ways for teachers to raise concerns, and recognition systems that celebrate excellence and commitment to hard-to-reach postings. Targeted pilots, including scholarships and financial-empowerment models, test what actually works to retain teachers where they are needed most.
